The and New London Community & Campus Coalition have teamed up to provide a way to safely dispose of old prescription drugs.

Mollica said flushing pills down the toilet allows the drugs to enter the water supply. He said the drop box is a safe way to dispose of drugs and avoid their potential misuse.

“Since prescription drugs are in every home with easy access, today’s youth are having ‘pill parties’ and taking drugs that were never meant for their consumption,” Mollica said in a press release.
