UPDATED: Police Investigate Colman Street Shooting

Incident may have followed earlier disturbance

The is investigating a shooting that occurred in a residential area of Colman Street on Monday evening.

Police responded to 103 Colman Street at about 11:45 p.m. and found property damage but no injuries. Deputy Chief Marshall  said the shooting may be related to a disturbance that occurred in the area earlier in the night.

The location of that incident was given as 114 Colman Street. Segar said two groups of girls got into an argument and were joined by friends of the girls. Police arrested Jose A. Moreno, 32, of 40 Pearl Street and Sanely Moreno, 18, of 189 Parkway North, and charged both with possession of a dangerous weapon and breach of peace. Also arrested was Amani Clinton, 19, of 270 Crystal Ave. on charges of breach of peace and inciting a riot. Two 17-year-old girls were charged with breach of peace.

Witnesses told police the argument did not extend into physical violence, although a relative of one of the people in the group sprained their ankle while trying to break up the argument and was taken to for treatment.

Both the disturbance and the shooting remain under investigation.
