Police Catch Wanted New York Man

New York Police reported that Douglas tried to get away on the Cross Sound Ferry.

On Thursday, May 22, 2014 at approximately 4:07 p.m., New London Police officers approached and detained Shawn L. Douglas on the ferry upon its docking in New London. Douglas was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm and charged with carrying a firearm without a permit, breach of peace, possession of marijuana. 

Douglas, 43, was wanted for Threatening/Menacing with a firearm in South Hampton, NY, earlier that day.

New York Police reported that Douglas threatened to kill an individual in New York, advised relatives that he was headed to Massachusetts to kill a family member, and then fled the scene. Additionally, it was reported that Douglas was possibly carrying a Mac-10 firearm and had boarded the Cross Sound Ferry (Susan Anne) in Orient Point, NY and was, at that time, en route to New London, CT.
