New London Police Investigate Shots Fired On Huntington Street

Third shooting incident in three days

The is investigating the third report of shots fired in as many days. The latest incident occurred in the area of of 163 Huntington Street at about the same time as the .

Deputy Chief Peter Reichard said officers heard gunfire in the area at about 9:30 p.m. Reichard said police have been assigned to extra foot patrols in the area and immediately responded. A search of the area and inquiries to nearby hospitals found no shooting victims, but several spent shell casings were recovered.

Police are also investigating two Friday incidents involving shots fired. Early in the morning, officers were called to 57 Ocean Ave. to find 30-year-old Ramel General with . In the evening, witnesses in the area of Cedar Grove Ave. and Waller Street.
