Driver said he was robbed at gunpoint on Robinson Street

The New London Police Department is investigating a reported robbery of a taxi driver on Halloween night.

Deputy Chief Peter Reichard said a Yellow Cab driver contacted police at 10:59 p.m. on Wednesday to report the incident. The driver said a man got into the cab while it was parked at Union Station and that he drove the man to Robinson Street.

The driver said his passenger took out a dark handgun at that location and demanded money. The driver complied and the man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
