New London Police: Duo Robbed Group At Gunpoint For iPhone 5

Two men allegedly used a gun to rob another group of men in the parking lot of New London's Wendy's Restaurant Sunday, but were later apprehended in Waterford and arrested, according to police.

On Sunday, at approximately 10:45 p.m., several males were robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of the New London Wendy's of an iPhone 5, according to the New London Police Department. The two suspects fled the scene in their vehicle, but the victims followed them into Waterford and called police, according to New London Police.

There, the Waterford Police Department stopped the vehicle and detained the suspects until the New London Police Department arrived, according to police. A stolen 357 revolver was found inside the suspects' car, according to police.

The incident resulted in the arrest of Shquan Seales, 19, of 7 Griswold Court, New London, and Yojang Torres, 19, of 168 Laurel Drive, New London. Seales was charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree larceny, carrying a dangerous weapon, fifth-degree larceny, having a weapon in a motor vehicle, possession of a pistol without a pistol permit and theft of a firearm. Torres was charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree larceny.

The victims and the suspects knew each other and police believe this does not appear to be a random act.
