New London Police Arrest Two On Drug Charges

Marijuana, cocaine, and PCP seized in Town Court raid

The announced this afternoon that it arrested two people and seized a large quantity of illegal drugs in a morning raid at 13 Town Hill Court.

Police charged 36-year-old Travon Brown with possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell, possession of crack cocaine within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of marijuana within 1,500 feet of a school, operating a drug factory, risk of injury to a minor, and possession of PCP. Also arrested was 33-year-old Grisela Roman, who was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine within 1,500 feet of a school, risk of injury to a minor, interfering with police during the execution of a search warrant, and tampering with evidence.

Deputy Chief Marshall Segar said police executed the search warrant at about 9:30 a.m. The search discovered 229 grams of marijuana, almost three grams of crack cocaine in a hidden compartment of a "container designed to look like a household item," and a small amount of PCP. The search also found electronic scales, cell phones, cash, bullets, and packaging bags.

Segar said Roman was charged with interfering with police after attempting to conceal some of the items in her pants. The risk of injury charges were issued because children were in the residence at the time of the search, the the Department of Children and Families was called to the scene.

Roman was held on $50,000 bond and Brown on $150,000 bond.
