New London Police Arrest Suspect For Robbery, Assault

Emilio Rodriguez was picked up on Christmas Eve on an arrest warrant for a robbery that happened in October. He also faces drug charges because police found him in possession of heroin at the time of his arrest.

On December 24, New London Police arrested Emilio Rodriguez, a suspect in an October robbery and assault that sent the victim to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital to be treated for head and facial injuries. Police, who had been looking for Rodriguez in order to serve an arrest warrant, located the suspect in the area of Broad and Williams Streets in New London.   

Rodriguez was taken into custody, at which point police found him to be in possession of about four grams of heroin packaged for sale. Police also confiscated $599 which Rodriguez had on him at the time. 

Rodriguez was charged with robbery in the first degree, assault in the second degree, larceny in the sixth degree, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, and possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school. Rodriguez is being held in lieu of a $60,000 cash/surety bond.
