New London Police Arrest Man After Alleged Pillow Fight, Robbery

Richard Parker, Jr. charged with stealing car after domestic dispute

A 36-year-old man was arrested earlier this week after allegedly striking a man with a pillow, stealing his keys and money, and driving off in his vehicle.

Richard Parker, Jr., was charged with third-degree robbery, disorderly conduct, sixth-degree larceny, possession of hallucinogens, interfering with police, interfering with a 911 call, driving under suspension, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

According to Deputy Chief Peter Reichard of the New London Police Department, police responded to a domestic dispute at 15 Bragaw Street at about 11:25 p.m. on Monday. A man said he and Parker got into a verbal dispute over the use of the man's car. He said Parker eventually struck him several times with a pillow before forcibly removing his keys and cash from his pants pocket and leaving in the man's 2002 Toyota Camry.

Police searched the area for the vehicle and found it parked across the street from the man's residence when they returned to check on him at about 12:40 a.m. on Tuesday. Reichard said Parker appeared to be under the influence of intoxicants and also had a small quantity of illegal narcotics.
