New London Man Arrested For Burglary, Armed Robbery

New London Police make an arrest relating to a rash of burglaries and armed robberies at commercial properties on Colman Street and Jefferson Avenue earlier this week.

At about 8:30 a.m. yesterday, New London Police arrested Eduardo Torres, 43, of 203 Jefferson Avenue, on an active arrest warrant and charged him with three counts of burglary in the third degree, counts of larceny in the sixth degree, larceny in the fifth degree, two counts of robbery in the first degree, and criminal attempt at burglary in the third degree. 

According to New London Police Department, the burglaries and robberies occurred in the vicinity of Colman Street and Jefferson Avenue. New London Police say that three overnight commercial burglaries and one attempted burglary occurred during the overnight hours between October 18 and October 21. During the same time period, New London Police also investigated two armed robberies in the same area. 

During their investigation, New London Police say they found evidence linking Torres to the crime scenes. Torres was arrested without incident is is being held on a $250,000 cash surety bond.
