Just before 3 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, New London police were called to a Crystal Avenue residence, for a report of an armed suspect in the home.

Officers responded to 308 Crystal Ave. and located a 15-year-old male detained on the first floor by the residents at the address.

“It was learned that the 15-year-old broke into the residence with a loaded handgun and knife,” New London Deputy Chief Peter Reichard said in a press release.

The roommate, armed with a  handgun, descended the stairs and confronted the 15-year-old, Reichard stated.
