New London Firefighters Respond To Early Morning Moore Ave. Blaze

Firefighters responded to an early morning house fire on Moore Ave. this morning, rescuing two people from the burning structure.

The fire at 23 Moore Ave. was reported at 6:10 a.m., according to the New London Fire Department's Twitter page. One man was rescued from the residence's roof, and another was treated at the hospital for smoke inhalation, according to WFSB. Three cats died in the fire.

Fire departments from Sub Base New London, Mohegan Sun, and Waterford provided assistance in responding to the fire, according to The Day. 

The American Red Cross is assisting the victims in the fire.
