Arrests for June 4 and 5

The following arrests were recorded at the New London Police Department. An arrest does not constitute a conviction and all are innocent until proven guilty.

Jesus Quinones, 31, of 70 Farmington Ave., June 4, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, no headlights, $1,000 non-surety bond.

Marlon Williams, 32, of 30 Bonnie Circle in Groton, June 4, interfering with police disorderly conduct, possession of narcotics, promise to appear in court.

Marysa Clauson, 38, of 43 Denison Ave., June 4, sixth-degree larceny, promise to appear in court.

Malik Nunn, 18, of 56 Coachman Pike in Ledyard, June 4, engaging in a pursuit, taking a motor vehicle without permission, traveling unreasonably fast, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, no headlights, driving without a license, promise to appear in court.

Edward O’Neill, 50, of 88 Parkway South, June 4, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, evading, engaging in a pursuit, $1,500 non-surety bond.

Veronica Lodge, 24, no certain address, June 5, possession of narcotics, second-degree breach of peace, $5,000 cash or surety bond.

Gregory Williams, 18, homeless, June 5, violation of probation, $75,000 bond.

Anastasia R. Joyner, 28, of 4 Lorenzo Street in Waterford, June 5, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, $1,000 non-surety bond.

Richard Parker, Jr., 35, of 15 Bragaw Street in New London, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, $5,000 cash or surety bond.

Ricardo Delvillar-Castillo, 27, of 46 Truman Street, June 5, driving under suspension, failure to display registration plate, $500 bond.

The council and the council leadership is supposed to act as a check and balance in this new form of government. Mr. Smith is one of those dishonest people. It is sad that this person can be so dishonest and that the so called leaders in the community back the dishonest person rather than standing up for the taxpayers and people that really do live here and pay taxes. As a finance director Mr. Smith knows the importance of the proper tax town for vehicles, so he cannot claim ignorance. Is he is breaking the law because the taxes in Windham are lower or because he truly lives in Windham?
