Man Pleads Not Guilty In April Shooting

21-year-old charged with assault, drug possession

A not guilty plea has been entered in the case of a 21-year-old man charged in an April shooting which left a man wounded.

Maximiliano Purdue-Pulido, of 21 Wightman Street, entered the plea in to charges of attempt to commit first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, illegal discharge of a firearm, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, possession of less than four ounces of marijuana within 1,500 feet of a daycare center, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a report by Office Brian Laurie of the , officers responded to a report of shots fired near Maple Avenue and Wightman Street on April 22. They found a man with gunshot founds to his left cheek and the back of his right shoulder. The man, who was not identified in the report, was taken to and refused to cooperate with police.

Laurie said police searched Purdue-Pulido’s residence after interviewing witnesses. There they found several marijuana plants, two bags with 90.1 grams of marijuana in them, a scale, and a total of $1,436 in cash. Officers also seized a .22-caliber handgun and six spent shell casings.

Judge Patrick J. Clifford continued the case to July 25. Purdue-Pulido’s file also lists 22-year-old Benjamin Bodnar and 20-year-old Rafael Holder as co-defendants, noting that proof of residency for all three men was found at the Wightman Street home, but Bodnar and Holder do not have charges pending in the shooting.
