A 29-year-old man was accused of assaulting police officers and their K-9 unit during an arrest on Sunday.

Deputy Chief Marshall Segar of the said Juan Gonzalez, whose address is uncertain, was arrested at 11:26 a.m. after officers recognized him walking on Farmington Ave. Segar said the officers knew Gonzalez had outstanding warrants, which according to the arrest log included first-degree failure to appear in court, interfering with police, driving under suspension, failure to obey an officer’s signal, and reckless endangerment.

Segar said Gonzalez fled into a wooded area on the west end of the street when the officers confronted him. Segar said a K-9 was used to track him, and that Gonzalez resisted efforts to arrest him.
