Most roads open in wake of Hurricane Irene, but avoid these ones

The following streets remain blocked due to disruptions caused by Hurricane Irene, according to Chief Ron Samul of the New London Fire Department.

  • Cedar Grove Ave. at Dow Street
  • Ocean Ave. at Alger Place.
  • Deshon Street at Farnsworth Street
  • Oneco Ave. at Deshon Street; access to apartments is available by entering through the gate by the field house.
  • Crystal Ave. at Lewis Street
  • Bristol Street at Walker Street
  • Lincoln Ave. at Williams Street
  • Gardner Ave. at Lester Street
  • Gardner Ave. at Pequot Ave.
  • Stanners Street
