Connecticut State Police made 49 drunken driving arrests and responded to one fatal car accident over the long Labor Day weekend, according to a release distributed Tuesday by the department.
In addition, 1,249 tickets were issued for speeding, 101 for seatbelt violations, 2,045 for “other” violations.
There were 300 accidents statewide, 14 of them with injuries, the release stated. There was one fatal accident on Interstate-95 in Norwalk, resulting in two deaths.

In New London, there were 13 accidents, 56 traffic stops, and a single arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to Deputy Chief Marshall Segar of the .
