Bulletin: Dickie Anderson Sentenced To Serve 60 Years In Prison

Dickie Anderson Jr., 42, was sentenced to 60 years in prison today for the 1997 murder of Waterford's Renee Pellegrino, according to The Bulletin.

Anderson was arrested in He was convicted of the , while a mistrial was called on the murder of the Comeau.

Pellgerino was found murdered in a cul-de-sac in Waterford in 1997 at age 41. She was a prostitute addicted to drugs at the time, although at one time she was an attorney.

Waterford Police worked with state police for years to find who committed the murder. A special cold case unit finally arrested Anderson in 2010 with the help of DNA evidence.

After Anderson was convicted in April, Waterford Police Chief Murray Pendleton said it was a "good day" for the department.

"You're talking about a lot of senior officers that were totally besides themselves," said Pendleton at the time, referring to when his officers first heard about news of the conviction. "I was very excited about it."
