PRESS RELEASE FROM L.O.T.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: L.O.T. (LOOKING OUT FOR TAX PAYERS) is frustrated to announce the necessity for a referendum petition for New London City and Board of Education budgets. The lack of Transparency, Accountability and Responsibility on the part of the administration, city council and board of education has once again galvanized the citizens and resulted in a quick and successful referendum petition drive. 470 valid signatures were turned and certified by the office of the City Clerk for the City of New London. L.O.T. attributes the rapid turnaround in this most recent referendum petition effort to the increased level of frustration that the community is experiencing with the actions and in-actions of the elected officials along with the staggering increase in taxes. New London citizens can no longer afford these costs. Tax increases are continually outpacing wage increases and many people are being taxed to the breaking point.
