Hot Rod Café Celebrates Completion of Jimi Hendrix Mural

NEW LONDON, Conn. (June 12, 2014) – Hot Rod Café, located at 114 Bank Street in New London, is going to celebrate the completion of their mural located on the outside their building as well as a meet the artist party. The latest addition to the mural is a painting of Jimi Hendrix, who also shares the wall with Bob Marley. The mural was painted by local artist Jamie Pearson of Groton. The celebration will be on Sunday, June 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Hot Rod Café.

 

In addition to the celebration, local favorites will provide live music with several of the best guitarists to celebrate Jimi Hendrix's legacy. Musicians performing that night include John Fries, Eddie Aledia, Braiden Sunshine, Nolan Smyth, Mike Desmond, Mike Golembeski, Rick Haddad and Ethan Cash. The event is free of charge and is open to the public.

Hot Rod Café opens at 3:00 p.m. from Monday thru Wednesday and at 12 noon from Thursday to Sunday, and specializes in chicken wings in 24 different flavors. Other appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, and entrees are available as well. The dinner menu at Hot Rod’s features Crispy Shrimp & Pork Pot Stickers, The Intimidator Cheeseburger, Teriyaki Ginger Garlic Tender Beef Tips, Fish & Chips, Prime Rib, etc. The restaurant also features an extensive variety of 24 beers on tap as well as wines and specialty cocktails.
