Books, Cars and Ice Cream for a Good Cause By Christopher Annino

Several weeks ago David Reindelwww.DavidReindel.com  a retirement income planner and author based out of Mystic Connecticut offered his functional 1950’s Ford Ice Cream Truck to help raise money for Autism Speaks. While selling ice cream near his office in Stonington he also contacted a few of his car friends and together they had a car show. Not only did he have a car show but there was a book signing for his new book “Beat the Odds, Guarantee Your Retirement in the New Normal.” He also was there signing his first two books “Don’t Die Broke” and “We Survived the Crash.”  All proceeds from ice cream and book sales and any donations went to Autism Speaks Foundation http://www.autismspeaks.org/ and in fact David doubled any of the proceeds making the total cost over $5,700.

Some notable individuals were in attendance donated their time that day. Former congressman and retired U.S. Army Colonel Robert R. Simmons, who also wrote the forward in David Reindel’s recent book was there. WFSB’s Kevin Hogan and his fully restored 1959 MGA ROADSTER - Orient Red, and Discovery Channels host of “Chasing Classic Cars” Wayne Carini were there as well. David Reindel clients call him a miracle worker and in many ways he is. He doesn’t sell miracles though, what he offers is something far greater than any magic and that is knowledge. He is a man who gives back, he is the good humor man who brings hope to those in need. In all my years in journalism I have never met a man who does so much for the people and organizations that need it most.  “The key to providing assistance in retirement planning is trust. I trust this man” said Rob Simmons. Wayne Carini later added “it takes a special person to do what David Does.”
