2013 Tough 8 Tournament and Student Showcase Scramble Results a New Champion was crowned Pro Wrestling Academy Connecticut By Christopher Tank Annino

September 15, 2013 the crowd was to capacity in Ansonia Connecticut at the St Sebastian Club. The crowd was in anticipation to celebrate PWA Ct’s one year anniversary with the Tough 8 Tournament and the Student Showcase Scramble. To start the beginning of the show Josef Von Schmidt was presented with the Connie Durfee Memorial Award https://www.facebook.com/pages/Connie-Durfee-Memorial-Award/362625917159322 for his charity work and involvement with the community. PWA’s brand new ring announcer Chris Preston began the show with a moment of silence to show respect for the memory of John Stephen Carbone. PWA also announced their new women’s division with Tina San Antonio and PWA rookie Lucy Diamonds in attendance. James Robinson also has a petition to impeach current PWA Commissioner Pedro Juan Dones III so that he can get his job back.

 The tournament began with the very nimble ninja Wes Draven vs current PWA International Champion and Tough 8 Champion Azrieal. Draven fought hard to triumph over Azrieal but he fell short of a victory, and Azrieal moved to the finales.

Kristen Frost went against Grimm Reefer both are tremendous athletes’. Coming from the concrete jungle Grimm Reefer is a lot more durable and tough then Kristian. However Kristian’s natural born athletic ability and grappling skill really gave him an edge and a win to advance.

The next match was Wrecking Ball Legursky against Lucipher Lords. For the first half Lords was thrown around like a rag doll and at one point Legursky threw lords into the audience. After that Lords switched tactics and utilized his stamina to beat Wrecking Ball. However in the process of one of Lord’s high risk moves he injured himself. Despite the injury he managed to slay the giant with a pin. Because of the injury Lords was forced to back out of the tough eight tournament. This allowed the killer Keizer Joseph Von Schmidt to advance to the finales. Von Schmidt prior to him advancing to the finales went against acting commissioner Pedro Juan Dones III and although Pedro being the technically sound wrestler that he is. He was no match for Josef Von Schmidt’s impenetrable power and strength.

Azriel was forced to face Kristian Frost in the semi finales both men took one heck of a shellacking. Azrieals manager, Tiny who is always ringside at his clients beckon call assisted when the referee was not looking. And although Azrieal did get an assist he still took a beating especially taking several of Kristian Frost’s near deadly suplexe’s.

Later that night the current PWA International Champion Azrieal from went to defend his tough eight title when he was to face Josef Von Schmidt in the finals of the Tough Eight Tournament. There was a lot of high flying on Azrieal’s part and Von Schmidt did utilize his brutal strength as predicted. But what wasn’t predicted was how hungry these two men were it was some of the most intense action ever in that squared circle. Both men took a severe beating beyond that of what a normal man could withstand. The desire that ran through both of these men’s veins could power a small city. Tina San Antonio was standing by ringside in Azrieals favor and it was speculated that she assisted with his win especially when the large German was tossed out of the ring. In a stunning loss Azreial is the official winner of the 2013 Tough Eight tournament. Azrieal has won the coveted trophy twice.

That night the tag team titles were up on the line Killers of the Kommunity went against Da House Party. The Killers of the Kommunity’s High flying wild action was a great challenge for Da House party however by nothing short of a miracle Da House Party won and are now the new PWA CT World Tag Team Champions. Nocturn being the sportsman he is went to congratulate Da House Party on a job well done however Buzz Bloodsaw didn’t agree with his actions and took the tag team belts and beat the currently crowned champions with their own title belts. Notcurn went to talk to Buzz about his actions and Buzz double crosses his own tag team partner and gives him a northern lights suplex. At one point he lost it and they had to call extra referee’s to settle him down. This is a shock to the sports world because it seems sports fans that the once dominant tag team The Killers of The Kommunity is no more.

            And as predicted the open challenge hardcore match against Bull Dredd was nothing short of amazing. Tiny, Azrieals manager challenged Bull both men crucified each other in and outside of the ring with various objects. A guitar was cracked on Dredds back and Dredd retaliated with smashing a chair multiple ways on Tiny’s skull. The audience even contributed to the props that both of these athletes used. However this time Azrieal helped Tiny get the win. The match was well done and lived up to what hardcore wrestling is about.

            The finale match was the Student Showcase Scramble where it showcased many of the students at Pro Wrestling Academy Connecticut. This was a match where only two wrestlers were allowed in the ring at any given moment. In order to win you have to get the opponent by submission or pin. This match featured PWA rookies Terence K Otis (TKO), King Swipes, Grappling Greg, Vin the Chin, Henry McCormick The Irish Gremlin, and Hippy Dickey Moon with is lovely Valet Lucy Diamond. The competition was stiff and in the first part of the match Vin the Chin was deemed the dominant one and would charge his opponents like a possessed locomotive. However several of the wrestlers got the idea to pile on top of Vin in order to get the pin. The Irish Gremlin and TKO exchanged some blows back and forth McCormick with his fighting Irish wit got some good strikes in but TKO’s devastating power punch got him good. . Break dancing phenomenon King Swipes was taken out earlier in the match. Grappling Greg got Dickey Moon with his northern lights suplex. Finally it was down to TKO and Grappling Greg both men fierce and agile. Suddenly an audience member from the crowd threw a fire ball in TKO’s eyes which caused him temporary blindness. The fire ball was intended for Greg however Greg moved away just in the nick of time. Greg pinned TKO and won the first ever Student Showcase Scramble. The crowd was on its feet chanting Grappling Greg’s name he represents everything that is good and patriotic about this sport he is the American hero Grappling Greg.

The following week in Blackstone Massachusetts at the Millerville Mens Club Azrieal lost his PWA international championship to Heart Attack Mack.  Pedro Juan Dones III was unable to attend the show due to a schedule conflict however John Cena Sr was appointed temporary commissioner for that night.  After hometown hero Tank the Tank was double crossed by Josef Von Schmidt Cena issued a six person tag team match against the Von Schmidt Nation.  Tank the Tank teamed up with Da House Party to go against the Von Schmidt Nation to help defend the coveted tag team championship belts. Tank and the house party managed to squeak by with a victory.  Grappling Greg brand new to the roster had his first official PWA match with breakdancing sensation King Swipes both had a great match however Swipes got the win. Red Lion Chris Battle went against Wrecking Ball Legursky. Lion famous for his high flying technical ability was no match for the giant and was over powered.

The roster has some of the finest athletes in sport competing grudges will be ended and disputes will be finalized..

Former WWE, ECW, & WCW star Stevie Richards will be holding a training seminar at PWA on October 10, 2013...it will be from 8-10pm. It will be open to all levels of trained or training wrestlers.
