Enough!!!

How much blood and treasure do we have to give? According to reports we have now lost 1,727 U.S. service men/women in Afghanistan. Most recently, 30 American troops, seven Afghan soldiers, an Afghan interpreter, and one dog all perished in the desert in a Chinook helicopter. 

What are we accomplishing? What goals have we met? I have been lucky enough, on my radio show, to have numerous discussions with "Experts" in the world of war and to a man they all agree we have zero direction in Afghanistan. Can we please have our leaders break down the objectives for all of us. Is that too much to ask? Are we nation building? Are we trying to eliminate the Taliban? Are we looking to free the enslaved or are we simply clearing the way for more Starbucks and Burger Kings? How is it possible that our nation, with its overwhelming military might, seems to be trapped in Afghani quicksand.                             

To me the solution is simple. It's time to use the power we have all paid so dearly for. This door to door, hand to hand combat, has to stop!  To quote J. Robert Oppenheimer, scientist and “father of the bomb”:

“Now I  am become death, the destroyer of worlds.”  Yes it is a horrible scenario. Such responsibility is almost too much for any man and/or country to have. However in the scenario, if it's either you or me, I will always choose ME!!! Stop sending our best and brightest into a war setting that is unwinnable. Have we not learned from our past transgressions?                            

Solution time. I have two ways to work this.

#1. Cordon off large sections of the rocky wasteland. Use large fences (only Luther fences will do) and drop informative leaflets on everyone. Those leaflets will simply say "leave through this gate, by this date, otherwise you will meet Allah sooner than expected." 

Then simply turn everything, within the cordoned off area, into a huge pile of smoldering glass. This process can be repeated ad infinitum until the problem is solved. After it is all over, we bring in "Sprigs and Twigs" to make the place beautiful. Throw Metrocast in the mix for entertainment and Shoreline Paving can handle the bright and bouncy new parking lots the Afghan people will need!! See, everyone wins!!! 

Solution #2, bring the boys and girls home.  I actually like the second choice even better.
