Halloween Happenings Abound This Weekend

Here's an overview of what kind of spooky fun you can have in and around New London from October 25 to October 27.

Boo! The weekend before Halloween is packed with all kinds of activities from the fun to the frightening. Here's an overview of what's happening Friday through Sunday in Waterford and in New London—and there's really something for everyone here.

Friday, October 25: Scare yourself silly walking the Haunted Trail in Quaker Hill or tour New London's reportedly haunted Hempsted Houses by candlelight from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Elsewhere in New London, there's trick or treating on the City Pier and scores of spooky and fun-filled treats at Halloween Town

Looking for something a little different? TalkStory Theater Company and Paper Tiger Puppets presents a festival of shorts outside in the Hygienic Art Park on Bank Street in New London at 7.30 p.m. collectively titled, "Something Wicked This Way Comes."

Saturday, October 26: Ukleja's Haunted Tree Farm is open for brave souls to take the tour in Quaker Hill on Friday and Saturday. On Saturday, Cohanzie Fire House hosts Waterford's annual Trunk or Treat from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

And because Halloween isn't just for kids, the Hygienic Gallery in New London will be hosting a Halloween party, featuring live music from Pocket Vinyl and Elison Jackson from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Admission is $7, $5 if you come in costume.

Sunday, October 27: Catch the latest documentary from Historical Haunts on legendary New England vampires and meet a direct descendant of Bram Stoker, author of Dracula, at the Garde Arts Center in New London.
