Dominion Donates $50,000 To L+M's New Cancer Center

The gift is a lump sum donation that will go to support the capital campaign of Lawrence + Memorial's new Cancer Center.

Dominion, the company that owns and operates Millstone Nuclear Power Plant in Waterford, has been in the spirit of giving lately.

Earlier this week, it announced a $30,000 grant to benefit schools in New London. Then, on Wednesday, it announced that its foundation had approved a $50,000 lump sum gift to the capital campaign in support of Lawrence + Memorial's new Cancer Center in Waterford.

"This will not be spread out over several years, as most of our gifts have been. It will be delivered later this year," said William Stanley, L+M's Vice President, Development and Community Relations, who thanked Dominion for the donation on behalf of the hospital and all the patients it will serve.
