Fancy A Dip? Join The Seal Splash Fundraiser For Mystic Aquarium

It's not too late to register to take the plunge at Misquamicut Beach, RI. this Saturday. All funds will support Mystic Aquarium's animal rescue missions.

How far would you go to help animals? Would you be willing, for instance, to take the plunge in Long Island Sound in the middle of winter? If you're feeling brave, now's your chance to prove it.

On Saturday, January 11, Mystic Aquarium will hold its first ever Seal Splash fundraiser. So far, about 50 people have preregistered to participate in the event, which will be held on Misquamicut Beach in Westerly, Rhode Island.

These brave souls will take the plunge at noon from Paddy’s Beach Restaurant & Resort at Misquamicut Beach. You can sign up to join the fun at MysticAquarium.org or on the day of the event. Registration is $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for children 18 and under and everyone who pre-registers will get a special Seal Splash towel to wrap up in after the plunge.

The event will raise funds for Mystic Aquariums Animal Rescue efforts. When a sick or injured seal is found on along the shores of Connecticut, Rhode Island or Fishers Island, Mystic Aquarium’s Animal Rescue Team gets the call to help. To date, the Aquarium’s rescue team has responded to more than 1,500 seals, whales, dolphins, porpoises and sea turtles.

The cost of caring for just one injured or sick animal can quickly add up and Mystic Aquarium’s new Seal Splash fundraiser is a fun way to help support the rescue team’s efforts.
