Two Friends: Jeff Sims and Frank Kaczmarek Photography Show

Frank Kaczmarek and Jeff Sims met at work when they were
Pfizer pharmaceutical scientists, bound together through work comradeship and
as ‘nature addicts’. Jeff who loved being in the wilds of Maine, and Frank who
loved capturing the wilds of New Hampshire with his
camera struck a deal in 2002. Jeff would show Frank Maine’s raw wilderness and
Frank would teach Jeff how to take it home with him through the lens of the
camera. Frank became Jeff’s artistic mentor and taught him the science of art
photography, by capturing nature and small human intrusions on the beauty of
our New England landscapes.

Frank was a familiar face at Studio 33 for a short time,
where he shared ownership with Sara Munro. From there he retired once more to New Hampshire. Jeff continues
to retreat from Waterford to Maine.

Together the friends have teamed up to bring you a collection
of their newest nature images. The similarities end there with Kaczmarek
treading a traditional approach with silver gelatin photographs, and Sims,
works as a slide photographer, processing his photographs through a Chromira printer
to make an archival print on metallic gloss paper. Both take pride in their
work with archivally framed shots of nature.

Be sure to stop in and meet these two interesting men and
their photographs on August 3rd, from
5-7
pm.
