Chislom '72 Unbought & Unbossed
The Southeastern Connecticut Federation of Democratic Women will hold their February meeting at the New London Public Library February 22nd, at 1:30 p.m. In celebration of Black History month, the PBS documentary Chilsom '72 Unbought & Unbossed (2004) will be shown.   In 1968, Shirley Chilsom of New York became the first African-American woman elected to Congress On January 25, 1972, she became the first major-party black candidate for President of the United States and the first woman to run for the Democratic presidential nomination. Open to the public.
