Lauren Agnelli Concert

Artreach, Inc. presents Lauren Agnelli in a special solo concert (with guest violinist Dana Takaki) as part of Artreach, Inc.'s Songwriting for Social Change project. Lauren will share, through music and story, her journey through the fascinating world of Folk/Pop/Rock/Punk Singer/Songwriters.

Lauren's pivotal and perhaps most popular work happened when she formed neo-beatnik folksters The Washington Squares in 1983 (nominated for a Grammy award in 1987), who spearheaded the ‘80’s folk revival with two albums and a non-stop international touring schedule. Along the way, Agnelli & the Squares met and worked with many of the ‘60’s cultural and musical heroes of folk and pop, including Allen Ginsberg, Dave Guard of the Kingston Trio, Ronnie Gilbert of the Weavers, The Limelighters, Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul, & Mary, Bob Gibson, and Abbie Hoffman.

This history makes here the perfect candidate to present a songs of social change concert, followed by a class the next day teaching how YOU can write songs that make a difference!
