The Eastern Connecticut Symphony concert series starts the New Year on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at 8 PM at the Garde Arts Center in New London. ECSO Music Director, Toshiyuki Shimada conducts the program which includes: Emily Cooley’s “Render and Reach; Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto D Major featuring guest soloist, Chelsea Starbuck Smith, ECSO 2012 Instrumental Competition Winner; and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4. The Soloist is sponsored by Chelsea Groton Bank. Free pre-concert conversation given by ECSO Concertmaster, Stephan Tieszen. A free post-concert reception is offered to all members of the audience. Tickets priced at $27-$60 with senior, student, and active military personnel discounts in selected seating areas. Student rush tickets priced at $12 available night of the performance. I would say that the Collective Bargaining Agreement would have to be looked at for his Union.…Read More Mr. Hathaway is not in Local 1378. He is MEU. I would say, that this is an interesting question for our members. Local 1378's CBA does not go into this language, however it does state that prior to reorganization, the union must be notified to bargain the impacts (not exact language). This is not to say that the union has final say, or say at all as to how the administration shall operate, but the impact to the employees is what matters as well as the position in general. I will look into this language in reference to the Charter and forward it to the MEU as well. Thank you.

I have not seen any details other than word of mouth at this time in reference to more being added…Read More to the pension plan after two years. I would not be surprised. This would be another instance in which the charter was violated and would have to be mentioned to the Admin. Committee. I would be willing to gamble that they were put into the employee pension plan as well.
