The Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra concert series continues on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at 8 PM, at the Garde Arts Center in New London, conducted by ECSO Music Director, Toshiyuki Shimada.  The  concert sponsored by Computer Sciences Corporation includes Mozart’s Symphony No. 38 ( Prague) and Schumann’s Symphony No. 3 (Rhenish).  The centerpiece of the concert is Tan Dun’s Water Concerto performed by ECSO percussionist, Chris Smith.  Large bowls of water will be played using various instruments.  The effect is mesmerizing.  Chris Smith will give the pre-concert conversation at 7 PM for ticket holders who wish to attend.  Members of the audience are invited to a free post-concert reception with champagne and goodies along with a chance to meet the conductor, the soloist, the musicians, and mingle with friends old and new.  Enjoy a full evening out.

Single tickets for this concert are available at $27-$60 through the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Office at 860-443-2876 or on line at: www.gardearts.com. Subscriptions are now on sale through the ECSO office.  For further information access our website: www.ectsymphony.com or visit us on Face Book.

It was good to see you too. I am sorry if I didn't noticed you were there until I turn my head. ByRead More the way--I put a question your FB message if you didn't see it.

Spencer, I wanted to talk to you today about how the auditor is also having a hard time gettingRead More numbers out of the finance dept. but because you were watching the dog and couldn't read my lips it was hard to tell you. lol By the way Trooper is a lucky boy and so damn cute. I was also wondering why they would pass a budget before the audit was done. What else is hiding in that budget. Oh who gives a hoot anyways it's only our money.
Sue P. May 26, 2013 at 10:30 pm
Spencer you are correct.
Kathleen Mitchell May 26, 2013 at 01:48 pm
Ryan, Thank you very much. That was a thoughtful and kind act. I might be asking for your help inRead More /paying/playing this type of activity forward.
Dennis Downing May 26, 2013 at 09:49 am
Ryan what time dos it start?
Ryan Schrader May 26, 2013 at 07:37 am
It runs until 4pm Sue!
donny May 25, 2013 at 11:41 am
Ryan you ask "Zak resigns, and goes on to another town for a lateral position, and he’sRead More asked “Why did you resign?” Do you think the interviewer could keep a straight face while Zak tried to explain some wacky story about a t-shirt.?" More importantly do you think they would hire him to go to the State Capitol and ask other legislators from other towns to help support New London????

@The Truth Hurts, one of the most valuble leasons ive ever learned was from my last comandingRead More officer, and i quote "we wear our last names on our uniforms not just to identfy ourselves but to let people know when we speak, we attach those word to who we are as credible men. our names are our credibility". Ill let you figure that one out The truth hurts.

OMG I did not realize that "CLUELESS" was her middle name. And she would be a fittingRead More addition to "Team Finizio". It keeps it all on the same plane of ability.
Clark van der Lyke May 26, 2013 at 04:59 pm
Yes Kathleen, one is reminded of that old saying "When the good road closes, the bad roadRead More opens." Wearing a T shirt that proclaims "Yin Yan" as being associated with Claire Gaudiani might open the bad road, so I would avoid recommending that, even though you too have the b---- to do it. In spite of Mr. Downing's assertion that "You have official in Washington D.C. that are making mistake up the yin yan" At least, Kathleen, you are not one to let anybody "off the hook" if indeed you are the you being referenced by the aforesaid writer.
Kathleen Mitchell May 26, 2013 at 01:56 pm
Dennis, I'm among the first to jump on (figuratively speaking) any member of this administrationRead More given the slightest opportunity. However, as one of the people closely associated with the Fort Trumbull mess from Day One, if there is anyone who should be admitting she made a mistake it would be Peg Curtin who, although Tony Basilica and John Markowicz already had a good workable plan in place through the LRA, took it upon herself to join forces with Claire Gaudiani and members of the Rowland administration which has brought nothing but trouble to this city to this day.
Dennis Downing May 26, 2013 at 10:08 am
A lot of you are getting all over Zak for being stupid. But the man had the b---- to admit it was aRead More mistake. Have you ever heard any of or past councilors do that on issue that they were clearly wrong on NO. Have you heard Jane our C.A.O. admit she made a mistake about E.D. NO. You have official in Washington D.C. that are making mistake up the yin yan and you all sit back and let them off the hook. So enough already. It time to direct some of this energy to more important people who have the power to really screw you. At least if you have a question on whats going on with our city he will try and answer you. That more then I can say about our mayor. Zak you should run for mayor. A tee shirt issue is far less damaging then some of the things I've seen our mayor do.

Pathetic that anyone would post this as a legit news story, more so that it seems a big corporationRead More is behind these ads.
Jason Morris May 22, 2013 at 01:30 pm
Jessica's previous two posts in other city's patch pages, with the exact same title (just schoolRead More district name changed) have been moderated/deleted. Recommend this corporate advertisement to get the same fate. The concerns are true, but it's an ad nontheless.
Felicia Hendersen May 24, 2013 at 09:13 am
Barbara, the shirt creator, Zak and the band of mayoral supporters all share the same mind. That isRead More why it is difficult for them to make any good decisions.
Barbara Crocker May 23, 2013 at 07:39 pm
My observance that NL people are not the haters, but the hated, amuses you??? Don't quite get that,Read More but it seems by the post written by the shirt's creator, that you don't get it either...
Marco Frucht May 23, 2013 at 06:43 pm
Barbara, Felicia, you people amuse me! Might I also suggest that this entire issue is being blownRead More way out of proportion?
Felicia Hendersen May 21, 2013 at 07:52 am
OMG this is too funny. Nice comparison.
Sue P. May 20, 2013 at 11:03 am
Very good comparison. I also wanted to add that the Ct. College students that believe what FinizioRead More has to say remind me of The Children of the Corn. After speaking with a friend we realized that Mayor Finizio is like a college student. I just wish he knew that real life does not work this way. New London has already played this game with the Giordano lady years ago. Remember her she was from Ct. College and also was going to make New London a hip city. We got homeless people and brownfields. So much for that idea. Been their done that. How about a new idea for once. Please don't think about shutting down State St. that too was a bad idea. Just ask Mr. Hyslop and Ms. Glover how their ideas worked out. It doesn't matter anyways it's all about the votes and getting your Children of the Corn on the Council. I mean come on drivers licenses for illigals who ever thought that one up.
J. Scagnetti May 20, 2013 at 10:07 am
I'd say more like G.I. Joe vs cobra, oh no wait, He man vs skeletor or maybe even the thundercats vsRead More mumra! Lol
