Hurricane (Or Tropical Storm) Irene Roundup

Our picks for the stories you may have missed if your power was out

It was a big week for Patch, as last Sunday saw quite a few visitors and new Facebook and Twitter followers as Hurricane Irene came to Connecticut (though she was a tropical storm by that point). Thanks to everyone who came by, with special gratitude to those who submitted photos, videos, or updates on the storm's impact on their neighborhood.

Utility crews are still working to restore electricity as I write this on Friday afternoon. As of 2 p.m. on that day, 17 percent of New London's Connecticut Light and Power customers were still lacking power. It was an improvement from the nearly 50 percent who lost electricity after the storm, and the company also predicted that 99 percent of its customers would be back online by Monday.

With that in mind, we wanted to recap some of our Irene articles in case you didn't have the means to check them out or if you just wanted to revisit the storm a week later.
