Urgent Care of Connecticut to Open New Location Will serve Groton and surrounding communities

BROOKFIELD, CONN. — The executive management team of Urgent Care of Connecticut announced the opening of their eighth clinic today.  The new office will be located in Groton, Connecticut. Other Urgent Care of Connecticut clinics are conveniently located in Brookfield, Glastonbury, Newtown, Norwalk, Norwich, Ridgefield, and Southbury. The company foresees rapid expansion over the next 12 to 18 months as the need for urgent care services continues to grow across the country.  A recent growth equity investment by Pulse Equity Partners and PineBridge Structured Capital Partners will make this possible.

"Based on the need for additional healthcare services in our state, we have decided to increase our presence in the eastern part of Connecticut,” said Dr. R. Robert Rohatsch, MD, FACEP, Chief Executive Officer and a founding member of Urgent Care of Connecticut.  “We look forward to supporting the greater Groton community as an adjunct to primary care physicians on evenings, weekends, and holidays and as a convenient alternative to visiting the emergency room for any non-life threatening condition or illness.”  “As a veteran-friendly company, we welcome the opportunity to serve the military and federal employees—and their families—who live in the Groton area in particular.”

The Groton urgent care center will be located at Groton Square (220 Route 12) and is scheduled to open in February 2014, upon completion of building renovations. Urgent Care of Connecticut clinics are the only certified and accredited, physician-owned, independently operated urgent care facilities in Connecticut. It is the mission and vision of Urgent Care of Connecticut to deliver the ultimate in quality healthcare to patients as the premier provider of outstanding urgent care medicine services in the northeast United States.
