Donations toward the Summer Enrichment program total $11,500.  The Summer Enrichment Program offers a variety of activities, life skills, recreation, and field trips.  The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut awarded $10,000 and the Bodenwein Public Benevolent Foundation awarded $1,500 towards this endeavor.

This year Macy’s granted $34,489 which enabled the Drop to provide over 20,000 books for children in Southeastern Connecticut.  The Drop in partnership with RIF (Reading is Fundamental) is happy to announce a RIF Station at school field day events.  RIF serves more than 4 million children nationwide, with a focus on children from birth to age 8.  In 2010, RIF distributed 15 million books at 17,000 sites throughout the nation.  By providing free books RIF engages children in fun reading-related activities and motivates children to read for fun.
