Liberty Bank and Jewett City Savings Bank "Stepping-Up" to Help Center for Hospice Care

Norwich, CT (April 7, 2014) – Center for Hospice Care is excited to announce two new partners for their Sneaker for a Buck program.  Throughout the month of April, fourteen Liberty Bank locations and all five Jewett City Savings Bank locations will be raising funds to make hospice care available to all patients regardless of their inability to pay as well as provide bereavement counseling, free of charge, to anyone in New London County.

During April, Liberty Bank and Jewett City Savings Bank employees will be mobilizing to help Center for Hospice Care by asking their customers to “purchase” a paper Sneaker for $1. The sneakers, which include space for honoring a loved one, will be displayed in each branch.

Both banks have been long-time supporters of Center for Hospice Care but this is the first year for both to raise awareness and funds through the Sneaker for a Buck program.  “We are so happy to have Jewett City Savings Bank and Liberty Bank participating in this program.  Their efforts will help us raise money and raise awareness for the services we offer patients and families here in Southeastern Connecticut,” says Carol Mahier, President and CEO of Center for Hospice Care.
