CONNECTICUT HUMANE SOCIETY RECEIVES $3000 DONATION FROM MUTTNATION FOUNDATION

NEWINGTON, Conn. (January 23, 2014) – The Connecticut Humane Society was awarded a $3000 Mutts Across America grant from MuttNation Foundation, an organization which works continuously to “hold up the arms” of shelters around the country through their generous financial support. MuttNation was co-founded by singer-songwriter Miranda Lambert and her mother, Beverly Lambert.

Mutts Across America was created in 2013 to support one shelter in each of our fifty states. In order to be considered for the grant, shelters must meet a long list of criteria, including high adoption rates and fiscal responsibility.

Beverly Lambert quotes: "Miranda and I, along with three board members, send our congratulations to the worthy recipients of this year's Mutts Across America: 50 Shelters, 50 States grants.  In partnership with our RACE team we conducted an exhaustive search throughout the US for shelters standing as an exemplary example in the fight to end animal homelessness, abuse and neglect. We are proud to award funding to the Connecticut Humane Society for the efforts they have exhibited in the fight."

The Connecticut Humane Society was recognized, in part, for their high adoption rate (91% in 2013), volunteerism (over 380 volunteers), fiscal responsibility and fundraising activity, including mail campaigns, online fundraising, crowdsource fundraising, and signature events.
