Advanced Improvements Named Remodeler of the Year

MYSTIC, CONNECTICUT – December 12, 2013 – The Builder’s Association of Eastern Connecticut held their annual Awards Night on Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Mystic Marriott.  Contractors from all around Eastern Connecticut came together to celebrate their accomplishments and to award those who shined brighter than the rest.  Advanced Improvements was the recipient of the 2013 Remodeler of the Year.

Norton Wheeler, Owner of Mystic River Building Company, presented David Preka, Owner of Advanced Improvements, with this prestigious award where David went on to thank his staff, community partners and loyal clients.  Following the award presentation, Heather Bond Somers, Former Mayor and Current Councilor of the Town of Groton, presented David with a Proclamation congratulating and recognizing this great achievement.

Somers highlighted Preka’s impressive history in her presentation.  Preka started his company at 19 after moving to the United States from Albania.  Through hard work and a desire to settle for nothing less than excellence, Preka has built his business into the well-respected company it is today.  Preka said later, “I would like to think that I am living the American Dream and I would not be able to do it without the wonderful support of the community that my family and I are so thankful to be living in.”
