Connecticut Magazine recognized The Recovery Room in its list of best restaurants in the state for 2013.
The magazine tabulated the list by asking 89 "dining out experts" to name their favorite restaurants in 26 categories. The people polled included food writers and editors, bloggers, and reviewers. The list names the top five choices in each category as well as some honorable mentions.
The Recovery Room was named as one of the five restaurants in the state for best value. The restaurant also received an honorable mention in the "best for families" category.
In a 2012 "Food Fight" poll, readers of the New London Patch and Waterford Patch chose The Recovery Room as having the best pizza in the two communities.
The restaurant was the only New London venue recognized in the Connecticut Magazine list. Last year, Bean and Leaf was the only New London place named in the separate "Best of Connecticut 2012" list, with the business appearing on the magazine's list of best coffee bars in the state for the fourth year in a row.
