Public Charrette Will Discuss Fort Trumbull's Future

Residents invited to weigh in on New London peninsula

Residents who would like to weigh in on the future of Fort Trumbull are invited to do so with a public charrette taking place at .

The event will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the fort's conference center. A children's table will be provided, as will coffee and cookies.

The gathering is a design workshop meant to hear ideas on development of the Fort Trumbull peninsula. The city has been working with the Yale Urban Design Workshop to develop a plan for the peninsula. A neighborhood at Fort Trumbull was razed following an eminent domain decision, and the land has remained largely vacant with the exception of structures such as the fort, a , and . A recent plan calls for the at the site.
