Where to go to find the cheapest gas in the region

Gas prices have continued their trickle downward, with a penny drop in the state and national averages since the weekend. The Norwich Bulletin suggests the downward trend might be about to come to an end, and The Atlantic suggests that might not be such a bad thing. ConnecticutGasPrices.com reports a national average of $3.29 and a state average of $3.55 for a gallon of regular. The cheapest reported station in the state was a BJ's in Wallingford, with a price of $3.29.

That most recently reported prices in New London already suggest a bit of a price shift, with most prices set at $3.59. These include the Williams Street stations, , and (with cash only). The cheapest price on the site is at $3.57, although this is only available for cash payments.

In Groton, you can still find sations selling gas at $3.44 - quite a few of them, actually. They include the Citgo at Fort Hill Drive; the Hess and Cory's stations on Route 12; and the Gulf on Mitchell Street. In Waterford, the cheapest prices include $3.47 at the BJ's on Cross Road; and $3.48 and $3.49 at the the Mobil and Bestway stations, both on Bost Post Road.
