Coast Guard Foundation Gets Major "Camo For A Cause" Donation

Huggies makes in-kind donation of 250,000 diapers in program supporting military families

The Coast Guard Foundation has received a 250,000 in-kind donation of diapers as part of a program supporting military families.

The organization received the donation at the Coast Guard Yard in Baltimore, Md. The diapers were donated by Huggies, which runs a “Camo For A Cause” program in conjunction with the National Diaper Bank Network and Armed Services YMCA. The company says it expects to donate 5 million diapers to military families this year in a drive which started on Memorial Day and ends on the Fourth of July.

"The Coast Guard Foundation supports families in any way possible," said Anne B. Brengle, president of the foundation. "We are very happy to accept this donation from Huggies. The diapers will make a real, positive impact on the lives of the brave men and women who protect our homeland, and their families."

Huggies says the program is meant to support families who are struggling with the ability to provide clean diapers for their children, a challenge it says affects a third of American families. While Camo For A Cause supports military families, the company has also donated 60 million diapers to North American families since 2010 as part of its “Every Little Bottom” program.

The Coast Guard Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Stonington with the goal of supporting Coast Guard personnel and their families. Its efforts include scholarships for Coast Guard families who have lost personnel in the line of duty, financial relief for families who have lost possessions in natural disasters, and the support of recreation, exercise, and family-oriented activities.
