Hamilton Street eatery gets nearly half the votes in the Readers' Choice poll

Perched on Shaw's Cove at the end of Hamilton Street, the family-owned business specializes in seafood and even has a nearby market to buy fish and lobster by the pound. Picnic tables, both covered and uncovered, offer diners a chance to sit and enjoy views of the marinas, downtown New London, and passing trains.

Two Pequot Ave. restaurants were the runners-up. The came in second both in nominations and in the poll, finishing with 15 votes (23 percent). had seven votes, or 10 percent.
