Follow your ears around town this week for some musical performances as they take advantage of the remaining warm days and migrate inside as well, according to the week’s events as chosen by .

On Thursday, The Baseball Project debuts an album at 7 p.m. at . The same evening, Brant Taylor and Friends take the stage at the Carousel Club at 33 Golden Street. During the on Friday, the musical accompaniment of the week is Faceless Thursday, a teenage band playing from noon to 1 p.m. The Carousel Club brings in Pattie Tuite and Wild Bill Fury that evening at 8:30 p.m. Hygienic Art closes out its music season on Saturday as Mystic Bowie brings a “punky reggae party” there from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Finally, you can always count on a regular jazz performance at between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Monday.

The gallery walks of the First Friday are around the corner, but some sites are getting a head start on the visual arts in the coming week. It starts Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., when leads a session on the use of Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 at 300 State Street. If the written word is more your thing, there are two gatherings this week that are right up your alley. On Thursday, Tom Ratliff leads a discussion on “Fair Wind of Liberty,” an short story set in the midst of the 1781 battle that took place on the shores of the Thames River; the story is now being expanded into a full-length novel. This presentation will take place at 7 p.m. at the conference room at . On Tuesday, the holds a discussion on the book “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close” by Jonathan Safran Foer. This chat starts at 6:30 p.m.
