Parks & Recreation, Project Runway, and Prime Suspect

TV Picks for October 6

Parks and Recreation, 8:30 p.m., NBC

Oh dear. Ratings are pretty dismal for this and Community. I tried to watch the Community season opener – first they attempted to rip off a production number like The Drew Carey Show used to do and then the pacing was so slow I literally could not keep my eyes open. Last year this show made me laugh. Not this year.

Project Runway, 9 p.m., Lifetime

I mean, at first I was a little upset that Anthony Ryan got sent home but then I tried to remember anything he had designed this season that blew me away and I realized, meh. Whatever. I was glad that little rodent Viktor did not win, just because he is selfish and mean. I am beginning to think that Bert will outlast them all.

Prime Suspect, 10 p.m., NBC

Love it, love it, love it. It is gritty. But not fake gritty, like Hawaii Five-0. Real gritty, like the first season of Law & Order and the first season of Homicide and the first season of Hill Street Blues. She feels real.
