New London Tube: "Until The Bell Rings"

The award-winning short flick hits the Web

Not long ago, we covered the and its series of short movies competing for a $500 grand prize and viewer's choice award. The judges' pick went to "Until The Bell Rings," which clocked in at just under seven minutes and follows a man on his training regimen as he prepares for a face-off with the world champion in a rather unexpected sport.

The contest stipulated that each film has to have at least 30 seconds of footage of New London, characters named Ruby and Morris Turner, a political sign, and the line, "Where is the mayor's secret office?" Each team was also assigned a category, with the team behind "Until The Bell Rings" getting mockumentary.

The film was directed by Peter Huoppi and written by Lee Elci, Rick Koster, Eileen Jenkins, and Huoppi. All four also starred in the film along with Troy Peters, Christine Elci, Marie Elci, and Tessa Rock. The full movie was posted to YouTube on Oct. 2. It doesn't seem to want to embed here, but we're able to share the trailer to see if it catches your interest. In our opinion, though, the full film is well worth checking out.
