Friday Night Lights, My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, and Unlikely Animal Friends

TV Picks for July 1

Friday Night Lights, 8 p.m., NBC

Second to last episode. EVER. You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone, that’s how the song goes, except in this case, we die-hards do know and we are heartbroken. Tonight, after Coach Taylor made his moving decision to stay in Dillon, it turns out they are going to mess around with the whole East and West thing again, and who knows how it will end. And Tim Riggins is not exactly skipping down the sidewalks with joy at his release. Oh, and don’t forget we are trying to get to States. Savor it, friends. Savor it.

My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, 10 p.m., TLC

A very good friend of mine who is usually doing things like saving the planet rather than watching TV recently confessed on Facebook that she is totally addicted to this and begged for help. I sent her a link to Masterpiece Theater on PBS but I’m not sure it worked. So of course I now have to check this out. Anyone else can’t get enough?

Unlikely Animal Friends, 8 p.m., NatGeo

Now here’s a nice show. Heartwarming stories of odd-couple animal friends. Like the duck and dog that used to hang out at that farm in Groton. Or that elephant and the dog that were friends on YouTube that everyone cries buckets over. I’m going to tell my Gypsy Wedding friend about this.
