Ribbon Cutting and Performance of National Theatre of the Deaf

The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut has organized a welcoming ceremony that will include a symbolic ribbon cutting for the National Theatre of the Deaf Aug. 26 at the Hygenic Art Park in New London.

The 1 p.m. ceremony will be part of a broader program that will include presentations of Stories in my Pocket Too, an original piece that will be performed simultaneously in ASL and the spoken word by the Little Theatre of the Deaf company.  Admission is free. There will be a reception afterward.

The theatre group  recently announced that it is returning to the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center and will retain an office in the historic Monte Cristo Cottage.
