Eastern Connecticut Symphony Chorus Auditions

The Eastern Connecticut Symphony Chorus will begin rehearsals on Wednesday, September 14, at 7:00 PM, in the dining hall of the First Congregational Church, 66 Union Street, New London. New singers are welcome to audition on Wednesday, September 7, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM by appointment only, in the same location. Please email ecscpresident@gmail.com to schedule an audition.  You must bring your own music, such as a hymn or other classical piece; show tunes are not appropriate.

Eighty-seven auditioned volunteer singers, conducted by Mark Singleton, rehearse weekly on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, September through April. The Chorus will present a winter concert to be held on December 17th at Harkness Chapel on the Connecticut College, featuring Bach's Magnificat, Craig Courtney's Musicalogical Journey through the Twelve Days of Christmas, Lowell Mason's arrangement of Joy to the World, carols by John Rutter, and a traditional carol sing-along. In April, the group will perform with the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra on stage at the Garde Arts Center in New London under the direction of ECSO Music Director, Toshiyuki (Toshi) Shimada. This concert will feature A Sea Symphony by Ralph Vaughan Williams. For further information, or for questions regarding auditions, access the website at www.ectsymphony.com and follow the Chorus link or contact Chorus President Sheri Pellerin at ecscpresident@gmail.com.
