"Drawn Today" Artists' Reception

Spirit Gallery Tattoo – New London’s only tattoo studio and art gallery – presents “Drawn Today” a collection of sci-fi and fantasy themed artwork by artists of the Drawn Today illustration blog. The show will open on Saturday, March 5 with an artists’ reception held that evening from 6-8 p.m.

Started in July 2009, Drawn Today is a consortium of artists and illustrators who share their daily drawings, paintings and sketches with... each other and their friends. The active blog, www.drawntoday.com, currently has 150 followers and participants, including Spirit Gallery Tattoo’s owner and lead tattoo artist Blaze Schwaller. The site’s also includes regular podcasts that give artists an outlet to share their working methods, experiments, tips and tribulations.

The show will feature several of the artists on Drawn Today's blog, including Madeline Carol Matz, Aaron Miller, Mark Molnar, Mark Harchar, Mark Scheff, Corina St. Martin and Annette Hassell. The progression of some of the participating artists’ works can be viewed on the Drawn Today blog.

“Drawn Today” will hang until April 2. Viewing hours are 12- 8 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday.
