The Lobster Players will present Bright, their third annual 24 Hour Theater Festival, on August 5th, 2012 at 8:00 pm in Evans Hall on the Connecticut College Campus. The performance will showcase a collection of short plays created and produced in just 24 hours. The playwrights write all night, the directors and actors rehearse all day, and we open (and close) in the evening! The past two years have yielded both moving and hilarious plays and attracted participants from across Southeastern Connecticut.
The Lobster Players are a group of local students and theater-makers who have been producing self-written and -directed theatrical events in New London since 2008. They have performed original works at the Hygienic Art Park, the Garde Arts Gallery, and Waterford High School. The group is committed to supporting New London and its vibrant arts community, and is proud to welcome an ever-growing number of participants and audience members.
This year’s performance is dedicated to the memory of Stirling Danskin, a beloved and brilliant longtime member of the troupe.
There is a five dollar requested admission fee to help defray expenses.
